Visual storytelling is a teaching key skill to captivate, educate, and inspire. Teachers can leverage the effective use of visual supports, both traditional and digital, in an era dominated by screens and social media, and especially after covid-19 emergency education: the way information is presented in classrooms has changed.

Visual Storytelling covers from understanding the psychology of storytelling to mastering the technical aspects of creating visual content, both traditional and digital. You’ll learn to create engaging displays and presentations, design memorable infographics, and produce captivating videos that will resonate with your students. But it’s not just about mastering the technicalities. It’s about tapping into your own creativity, honing your ability to communicate ideas effectively.

About

Methodology.

Participants will learn the theory and principles of visual storytelling and then immediately apply them through practical exercises, to work on real visual storytelling projects, either individually or in groups. Workshops will allow participants to experiment with different tools and techniques, fostering active learning and creativity.

  • Familiarize educators with various digital tools and technologies that enhance visual storytelling in the classroom.

Modules

Module 1: Fundamentals of Visual Storytelling

Understanding the basic principles of visual storytelling and exploring the psychological and emotional impact of visual narratives will enable participants to create their own visual language.

Module 2. Creating Engaging Visual Content

Development of practical skills in visual content creation, exploring tools (both traditional and digital), design principles, and storytelling techniques by hands-on, practical approaches.

Module 3. Integrating Visual Storytelling in Education (Application and Impact)

Strategies to integrate learnings on visual storytelling in teaching, lesson planning and impact assessment. We are focusing on visually accessible content and inclusive design that doesn’t leave behind dyslexic, low vision, autistic and others.
